 Pakistan Flood – July 2022

Due to continuous heavy rain and land sliding from last two weeks there Pakistan has been to facing difficult situation. Across the country loss of not only assets but also human lives has been occurred. Thousands of people died and millions are suffering from hunger and homelessness. There is no proper arrangement of rescue for them. As its Pakistan, there is no proper arrangement for such disasters.

How many districts / areas / were effects in Pakistan?

Officially 66 Districts are declared by Government of Pakistan which are under calamity hit.

Loss occur due to this situation:

·       At least 1,023 people had lost their lives including 360 children and 1,456 people were injured since 14^th June, 2022.

·       5.2 million people were effected from all this situation.

·       218,000 houses were destroyed. 452,000 houses were damaged.

·       Around 735,000 livestock have lost

·       2 million acres agricultural fields / farmlands were damaged.

 

Efforts of Pakistan and people around:

·       UN secretary General Antonio Guterrs said in Tuesday for $ 160 million aid.

·       USAID announced that it will send $30 million dollars on Tuesday.

·       United Nation Central Emergency Resources Fund already 3$ million for urgent health. It will help around 90 thousand people who were most effected.

·       Pakistan Government has announced to pay the affecties families more than 6 million rupees / $74.7 million. Already given to almost 250,000 families.
